Beauties Of Carnations Flowers

The beauty that is inherent in Carnation flowers can never be overestimated. They are extremely fragile yet a simplistically exquisite creation of God. They can lighten up the mood of even the most depressed soul. They can be naturally colored or even artificially colored. They are evergreen and perennial and last for a life time. The Carnation is the symbol of spirituality and is used in many ceremonial processions and religious functions. They are associated with holy individuals and hence have found special acceptance amongst the religious communities.

There are primarily three strands of the Carnation Flower. The first is the standard carnation which is a single large flower attached to one stem. This is the most commonly found Carnation variation. The second one is the spray Carnation which has around six flower heads on each stem.

The last kind is the dwarf carnations which have many small flower heads growing on one stem. All three kinds are sought after and revered by flower lovers the world over.

Carnations have a very distinctly sweet smell that is the primary reason why it is the most highly pollinated flower in any region. The Carnations grow in clusters of five or six and may have a single bloom or even multiple blooms, depending on the external environment and adaptations to the surroundings.  The petals are arranged in an overlapping manner and have flat edges.

Carnations have an uncanny ability to lighten the ambience of a gloomy place. Carnations leaves are mostly thin and stalk less and they come in many varieties and shades ranging from blue to greenish purple. Carnations have an extremely long shelf life and can be arranged in bouquets and floral settings that need to be very versatile, sturdy and long lasting. The Carnation flower was first cultivated over two thousand years ago by the Greek and romans that would make them to floral wreaths to be worn on the head.

They were a symbol of achievement and pride for those who wore them and they were also arranged in garlands of various different colors for decorative purposes. Carnations are considered to be very hardy flowers and hence they can be used at the base of any arrangement to emulate a type of boundary formation at the edge of the floral arrangement.

Carnations also come in various shapes and sizes and hence they are utilized mostly as filler flowers in floral arrangements where gaps arise that cannot be suitably filled by any other flower. Any floral arrangement that is lacking basic structure can be automatically given shape by inserting carnations at the desired places.

The Carnation is very versatile and fits into any color scheme and flower combination. It is also extremely beautiful on its own.
